I had purchased one of these controls about two years ago and after about 18 months I noticed the cable had become brittle and the casing had cracked open exposing the wires inside. The chair was still working so I continued to use it until one day I could smell a hint of smoke. I lifted the controller up and found that the movement of the cable had broken a couple of the wires and started arcing and smoking. I stopped using the chair and tried to repair the cable but the cable had become so brittle that I couldn’t remove the casing from the wires to make a safe repair. That’s when I went online and ordered my new controller. When I installed my new controller I routed the cable and attached the new controller to the front of the chair to eliminate any cable flexing during the operation of the chair.

I was apprehensive at first when I ordered this part, but when it came in and I installed it myself, it plugged in exactly the same, length the same and same control I was impressed. Only difference, the Replacement was of better quality than the Original!
It works just fine on our chair. The old one had frayed wires where the wires go into the toggle part. That is a weakness of this unit. The chair is working great now.
